Invite friends

The link is already in your account.

No application, no approval, nothing to set up. Open the gift icon in your workspace and send the link to someone who would rather stop retyping subtitles by hand — they get 30% off their first three months, and you get a reward when they subscribe.

Where it lives

You already have it.

Invite friends sits behind the gift icon in your left menu, on any personal plan. Nothing to join, nobody to be approved by, no form between you and the link.

What they get

30% off their first three months.

New customers only, on whichever plan they pick, applied automatically at the checkout. There is no promo code for either of you to remember, mistype, or write a support ticket about.

What you get

You earn when they subscribe.

The reward lands once someone completes a paid subscription through your link — not on a signup that never converts. Your count and your rewards sit in the same widget as the link.

A worked example

Follow one link.

The programme is short enough to watch from end to end. This is one link, from the moment you copy it to the moment a reward turns up against your name.

  1. 01

    You copy it

The gift icon in the left menu. Your link is already generated and already yours — this step takes about four seconds and it is the last one that needs you.

  2. 02

You send it wherever you talk to people

A DM, a newsletter, a course page, the bottom of a client email. It is one link and it behaves the same in all of them.

  3. 03

They land on an invitation, not a signup form

Your link carries your name with it, so the page opens on “an exclusive discount from you” rather than on a price list. If the name does not come through, they still get the offer — it just arrives unsigned.

  4. 04

They pick whichever plan suits them

Lite, Pro or Max. The 30% follows the order rather than a particular tier, so you are not steering anyone towards the plan that pays you best.

  5. 05

The discount applies itself at checkout

Thirty per cent off the first three months, taken off automatically — no code, no field to fill, nothing for either of you to get wrong. Payment is handled by Stripe, which is also the only party that ever sees a card number.

  6. 06

Your reward appears in the same widget

When their subscription completes, not before. The count and the accumulated reward are in Invite friends, next to the link you started with.

    Handled byOur referral platform

Two things we won’t pretend.

Their 30% is fixed. Your reward isn’t.

The discount on the other end is the same for everyone — 30%, three months, new customers. What you earn varies between accounts, and the widget shows the terms that apply to yours. A number printed here would go stale the day it changed, and you would find that out at the worst possible moment, so we send you to the live figure instead.

Personal accounts only, for now.

Invite friends is a personal-workspace feature. Organisation and team workspaces have no widget, so if you are on one and want to refer people, write to us and we will arrange it by hand rather than leave you hunting for a menu item that is not there.

There’s more than one way to pay less.

The referral link is the automatic one. These are the rest, and every one of them is a short email rather than a form — say which and a person picks it up.

The 30% applies to the first three months for new customers only and is taken off automatically at checkout. Billing is in HKD for Hong Kong and USD everywhere else, so it shows up in the currency you are charged in.
